
Ms. Nevius Abbas helps clients develop and implement their domestic and international trademark registration and policing strategies. She has managed domestic and international portfolios consisting of as many as 5,000 trademarks for clients across diverse industries, including apparel and other consumer goods, lawn and garden, health and fitness, food and beverage, vitamins and dietary supplements, payroll and other financial services, and computer software and hardware. In the area of trademark enforcement, one of her earliest cases involved a raid with the Federal Marshall of a counterfeit establishment in Los Angeles; she also has managed trademark infringement actions before the United States federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. No stranger to the dangers of brand pirating abroad, Ms. Nevius Abbas also has brought successful enforcement actions in a number of foreign jurisdictions including China, Hong Kong, and Korea.
Ms. Nevius Abbas is listed as a recommended expert among “The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” published each year by World Trademark Review. (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
Ms. Nevius Abbas has extensive trademark experience derived from working in both boutique and “big firm” environments, as well as working in-house in a secunded trademark position. Early in her career she represented one of the oldest clothing companies in the United States in protecting its famous brands both in the United States and abroad. Prior to joining Pranger Law PC, she worked at Manatt, Phelps, Phillips, LLP, where she served for many years as senior counsel and chair of the trademark prosecution practice of the firm’s Northern California trademark group.
